Important information for potential residents: Because your safety must be our first priority, everyone must complete a screening interview before acceptance into the program. Please read the following information, then call with any questions or to set up a time for an interview during office hours:

Individuals Ineligible for Residency:

  • Anyone convicted of a violent crime

  • Registered sex offenders

  • Anyone who is unwilling to abide by the policies of Taylor House

 

Services Provided:

  • A clean room with a clean bed, nightstand, and closet – and key locking doors.

  • A well-stocked kitchen with the food and equipment for you to prepare your own meals as you prefer

  • Clean bedding, towels, and toiletries

  • Access to shower and laundry facilities

  • A large commons area with a dining space, television, sofas, and children's play area

  • Case management that will work with you to develop your goals and help you to achieve independence

  • Referrals to community agencies as needed

Intake Procedure

  1. Initial phone or in-person interview to determine eligibility and priority level of placement. This has to include a background check for violent offenses to ensure that all our residents are safe.

  2. Completion of intake paperwork.

  3. Review of house policies and signing of agreements.

  4. Examination of resident's possessions to ensure nothing dangerous is being brought into the house.

  5. All new residents will wash all their clothes to ensure no bedbugs or other unwanted guests are brought in.

Expectations

Your stay at Taylor House is earned through working towards your independence and helping to create a safe and positive space:

  • Every resident must work with their case manager help create goals and make an effort to achieve them.

  • Everyone is expected to abide by house rules such as observing curfew, abstaining from alcohol and drug use, behaving civilly and cleaning up after themselves.

  • If a resident is found in violation of any of the program rules, they will be issued a written warning. Three infractions will result in immediate dismissal.

  • Gross misconduct and violating curfew requirements are grounds for immediate eviction from the premises.

Limitations of Residency

  • A stay at Taylor House is up 90 days, with the possibility of an extension at the digression of the director.

  • Admissions are up to the discretion of the director. Repeat admissions can be re admitted if they meet new guidelines established.
